Signs of condensation
Water: Pools of water on the window sills in the morning and water streaming down the glass.
Random Damp Patches: Patches of dampness of all sizes around all parts of the home.
Smell: A ‘damp smell’. Often described as musty or earthy and concentrated in places like under stairs cupboard and inside kitchen cupboards.
Mould: Black mould soon proliferates in corners of rooms and close to doorways, also along the ceiling near a wall.

What are the risks of condensation?
Black Mould: Black mould is BAD. No, seriously, it is really quite bad for you. Mould and mildew can cause chest infections, and the damp environment can aggravate the symptoms of asthma. The NHS spends at least £2.5 billion a year treating the problem.
Structural Damage: Damp can also cause structural damage over prolonged periods of time, and serious condensation is no different. Condensation on a wall can cause peeling wallpaper and mildew, but can also damage the plaster underneath.

The Cure
A PIV provides ventilation for the whole property using the tried and tested Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) principle, where fresh, filtered air is introduced into the home at a continuous rate, encouraging the movement of air from inside to outside. The results are a fresh and healthy indoor environment in which condensation and mould cannot exist, and where indoor pollutants are kept to a minimum – all great news for allergy sufferers.
