Sweaty Bungalow!
In Bridlington today I was in the loft of a home with a rather acute lack of ventilation which, when combined with an over abundance of humidity necessitated remedial action in the form of a PIV ventilation unit. But the real saving was not in the living quarters but inside the loft itself. High humidity together with a newly fitted roof and its so-called breathable membrane under the tiles was causing suffocation and sweating. Hot humid air rises and often ends up in the loft where it condenses on the cooler tiles - or the membrane underneath. This now liquid water runs down from the membrane and onto the wooden rafters. This is not what we want - roof timbers getting wet and mouldy! The video is below.
